How to Add USDT TRC20 to Trust Wallet

Adding USDT TRC20 to Trust Wallet is straightforward once you know the correct steps. Many users confuse TRC20 with ERC20 or BEP20 — selecting the wrong network can result in lost funds that are extremely difficult to recover.

Step 1 — Install and Open Trust Wallet

Download Trust Wallet from the official App Store or Google Play. Always verify you are downloading from the official source. After installation, create a new wallet and back up your 12-word recovery phrase offline. Never screenshot or store the phrase on your device.

Step 2 — Open the Token Management Screen

On the main wallet screen, tap the filter icon in the top-right corner. This opens the token search list where you can enable or disable which coins appear in your wallet.

Step 3 — Search for USDT TRC20

In the search bar, type USDT. You will see multiple versions of Tether — ERC20, BEP20, TRC20, and others. Look specifically for the entry that shows USDT (TRC20) with Network: TRON. Toggle the switch next to it to enable it.

Step 4 — Return to Main Screen

Go back to the main wallet screen. USDT (TRC20) should now appear in your asset list. If it does not appear immediately, try pulling down to refresh the screen or ensure your internet connection is stable.

Step 5 — Get Your TRC20 Receiving Address

Tap on USDT (TRC20), then tap the Receive button. Trust Wallet will display your TRON wallet address — it always starts with the letter T. Copy this address or share the QR code with the sender.

Before sharing your address, always confirm with the sender that they are sending via the TRC20 (TRON) network. Sending ERC20 USDT to a TRC20 address will result in funds not appearing and recovery is not guaranteed.

Important: You Need TRX for Fees

Sending USDT TRC20 from Trust Wallet requires a small amount of TRX (TRON's native token) to cover bandwidth and energy fees. Without TRX in your wallet, outgoing transactions will fail. Keep at least 10 to 20 TRX to cover typical transaction costs.
